I am 22 years old and began preaching the gospel in an internship with the Stonegate Church of Christ congregation near Beaumont, TX the summer after I turned 19. I’ve been in two more summer internships since, working with the the North Boulevard Congregation in Tampa, FL in the summers of ‘07 and ‘08. I’m currently preaching full time for the Bradenton CoC brethren in Bradenton, FL while attending Florida College and finishing my BA in Biblical Studies with a minor in Church History and Religious Thought. It is a small congregation of about 15, but they’ve got big hearts.
I’ve always had a love for the truth and it wasn’t until last year that I realized that this is what I was created for. I’m a very amiable person and have no trouble in a crowd of people I’ve never met before. I’m the person who tries to organize everything to make it more efficient and easier to accomplish whatever goals may be set, and when I set my mind to do something I’m too stubborn to give up.
This May (2009) I will be graduating and be looking for somewhere to spread the Gospel. Ideally I will be able to work with a more experienced evangelist for a period of one to two years, but if no internship may be found I believe the work I’ve done thus far has prepared me to work with a congregation without too much trouble. I’d like to find a congregation in or near Alabama, but I’m open to all suggestions.

I am currently preaching at the Palmetto church of Christ in Palmetto, Fl. I have been here since June of 2005. We are at peace. I currently also write a weekly newspaper article (and have for the past several years). I also write a weekly bulletin. I am webmaster for 6 different churches web sites. Before coming to Palmetto, I worked with the Paris Avenue church, in Peoria, IL 1/1992 to 6/2005. While there God blessed us with growth in many ways. I left there in peace. While there, we were able to put in place 3 godly elders and several deacons who each are willing and hard workers for the Lord. While there I held a public debate with the head of the Muslim Society in that area, Nadir Ahmed.

Before coming to the Paris Avenue church, I worked with the church in Lake Wales, FL, from 1/1985 to 1/1992. While there the church grew and I left there in peace.

Before Lake Wales, I worked with the church in Cortez, FL, from 1/1983 to 1/1985. I co-labored there the first two years with Phil Roberts. The church grew and I left there in peace.

I have been back to preach at each of the churches that I have left.

I am non-institutional, non-instrumental, and have the experience of dealing with the many innovations that have come along. I do not bind the covering, I do not hold the position that Jesus was "just a man." I believe in a strict Matthew 19:9 understanding of marriage, divorce, and remarriage.(Only cause for divorce is adultery, only the innocent party in such case may remarry. I do not believe you can get a divorce and wait until your EX-mate commits adultery [termed “mental divorce”]). Nor do I believe that baptism changes an unscriptural marriage into a scriptural marriage.

Nathan Gochee

Hello,
My name is Nathan Gochee. I have been a Christian for over twelve years. Let me go back farther. I was not raised in a Christian home. I am one of four boys. My parents divorced when I was four years old. My father was a very abusive alcoholic. I got married at the beginning of my senior year of high school to a young lady that changed my life forever. Jennifer and I were married November 5th, 1994. After being married for about a year, and seeing the example that my wife was, I obeyed the Gospel. We now have three wonderful children, Breonna – 12, Cason – 7, Kaeghan – 4. I started preaching on a regular basis over five years ago. In September of 2005 I accepted the minister position with a small congregation in Salisbury, NC (Salisbury Church of Christ). There were only 15 people attending when we arrived. I preached morning and evening services on Sunday, held a study with an elderly lady on Sunday after noon, studied with a group at Carolyn assisted Living Center every Tuesday evening, had an in-home bible study with four teenagers in our home every Thursday. We were seeing the Lord work there in Salisbury as the number grew to about thirty by April of 2006. I was not able to get full support, so I carried a full-time secular job working six days a week. Cost of living was a lot higher in North Carolina than in Tennessee. I was not able to gain more support and finding stable secular work that would make up for lack of support was hard. Towards the end of May, we started to realize that we were not making it financially as we were unable to make full payments on my truck and lost it to repossession. We then decided that it was best to return to Tennessee where we still had our home that my older brother was staying in. Sense returning to Tennessee, the Lord has blessed me with a good job and we are recovering from our losses. I have been traveling throughout Tennessee and Alabama helping small congregations that are without. We have been very busy as travel has been a minimum of 1 hour one way to wherever I may preach at, some being three hours away. I still desire to be able to work with a congregation on a more extensive basis when the Lord sees that it is time again. I happily accept any opportunity to hold weekend meetings and or studies when called upon. I believe that the Word of God can reach any one; we just have to deliver it. We must go, not sit, out and be lights not just to those who are Christians. I feel that people are reached best through in-home studies. I feel that Christians also need encouraging and teaching as much as possible. This must take place inside and outside of the meeting place.

Mike Hughes

I am 58 years old and have been married for 37 years to my wife Reba. We have two children both grown and with children of their own. I have been preaching both part-time and full time since I was 14. I have been working with the church here at Wilmington, Il for the past 7 years. Due to economic hardship in this area the church has had to cut their support back. I received a cut in pay by $600 a month which began in April. With the high cost of living in the area I don’t know how long we are going to be able to make it with that kind of cut. We also received word that we will be losing $200 a month in our outside support. So we are entertaining the idea of possibly making a move from the area by year’s end. I am a 22-year-old Christian from Louisville, Kentucky preparing to graduate from a local university. I am also engaged to be married in May. Because my degree will be in mathematics, I should be able to obtain secular employment if full support is not available or cannot be obtained from outside sources. Additionally, my fiance has certification as an expanded-duty dental assistant.
I have been preaching from time to time for the last six years or so, including a semi-regular stretch with a small congregation in the area. I held a gospel meeting in Hodgenville, KY, in the summer of 2008. As a member of the Manslick Road church of Christ in Louisville, I have been active in teaching Bible classes for the last four years, both in adult and children settings (junior high). I attended the two-week Preacher Training Program conducted in 2006 by the Ellettsville church of Christ in Indiana.
The goal in my preaching, teaching and writing is to break down what the Bible says to its core principles, as a text’s underlying principle is a key component of the context. I am a sound gospel preacher who simply wants to help others grow in their spiritual relationship with God. I desire to help people to become the servants that God desires, the lights that God expects, and the children that God loves. I have been married for eight years and have one son who is currently 2 yrs. old.
I have been preaching and teaching for about 12 yrs. Most of the 12 years, I have simply filled in for any congregation that had an opening or opportunity to preach or teach. I did complete a 2-year preacher training program under the supervision of John Mcpherson and CA Burcham in Montgomery, AL. After completing the training program, I worked with a group of Christians in Patterson, CA for two years. I have preached in several different summer programs and lectureships. For over 25 years, I have been serving the Lord as a full-time preacher. This is my twelfth year working with the church in Mableton, Georgia. The church in Mableton is at peace and in one accord, however we think it is time for a transition. My wife and I have been married for 26 years. Due to medical conditions of relatives, we would prefer to live in a location within two hours of a major airport. I am currently looking for a congregation in need of a full time preacher. I am 24 years old and unmarried. I obeyed the gospel and was baptized 12 years ago. My parents were both converted to Christ in their teens, and have striven to raise me and my siblings to keep the faith. I currently attend at the Bacliff church of Christ in Bacliff, Texas (www.bacliffchurchofchrist.org). My marital status may be of benefit to smaller congregations, as I would require less financial support than a man raising a family. I have not yet been a full time preacher, but have done "fill in preaching" as often as possible. Currently, the men of the congregation take turns preaching on two Sunday nights of each month, as well as shorter invitations on Wednesdays. I take advantage of these of these opportunities as often as possible. Before attending at the Bacliff congregation, I was regularly assisted and filled in for brother Steinmetz in his preaching duties at the Texas City congregation, until his passing. So, over the last five years, I have done a fair amount of preaching, if not on a regular basis. I am able to teach class, and have done so often over the last several years. Typically I have taught the High School and Jr. High aged children, but could certainly teach adult classes. I have also engaged in a good many personal Bible studies with individuals both in and out of the faith. I am able to move anywhere, but will be unable to do so until March 1, 2008. However, I would like, if possible, to have a congregation "lined up" before then.
